Montasio is a creamy, cow’s milk cheese originating from the North-Eastern provinces of Italy.
It was initially a monastery cheese, and today it is still produced following old traditional methods. This DOP (PDO) cheese is aged for three months.
Montasio is pale yellow cheese with a mild and sweet flavour and goes well with Sauvignon Blanc.
It can be used on a platter or melted for a pasta sauce or a quiche filling.
